Giving Principles

  • We believe the church should be ready to help meet the physical needs of the poor. Our deacons often meet with individuals for financial advice and assistance. Matthew 6:1-4, Acts 2:44-45, 4:32-35, 11:27-30
  • We believe all Christians should make efforts to give, and that God honors giving sacrificially. Mark 12:41-44, 2 Corinthians 8:1-15
  • We believe that Christians should be generous in their giving, but even then, it is only a small part of living a life of faithfulness. Matthew 23:23
  • We believe that the church does well when it frees up individuals to teach and preach the gospel by providing for them financially. 1 Corinthians 9:7-14, 1 Timothy 5:17-18, Galatians 6:6
  • We believe it is wise for Christians to make plans and be purposeful in their giving to the needs of the church. 1 Corinthians 16:1-2
  • We believe that giving to the work of the church is a blessing that should bring joy to Christians. 2 Corinthians 9:6-15
  • We believe that Christians can give generously and be confident that God will meet all their needs. Luke 6:38. Philippians 4:15-19
